OUR RETREAT IN ARS
May 22- May 26, 2015
by Hector Arvizu-Mancilla (Diocese of Tyler)
Here I am sharing with you the experience of having had a wonderful five-day silent retreat in Ars. All of us seminarians who are participating in the Rome Experience just finished the retreat, which was a wonderful time of meditation and prayer. It was a very fruitful retreat in which we participated in adoration to the Blessed Sacrament twice a day and attended three conferences about Saint John Vianney, the Cure of Ars, each day.
During the retreat I experienced such a great peace in my heart because I recollected myself in silence and prayer. There were five days without talking to anybody, neither during the meals nor when we had the conferences.
The silent retreat took place from Friday, May 22 to Tuesday, May 26, it ended around 2:15 pm. After this retreat, we got ready to depart for Rome on May 27. Because of this retreat, I do not have too much to share with you, but I have to say that the retreat was a blessing for everybody because we rested, we prayed, and what is more important, we spent time with our Lord Jesus Christ in silence.
