“The Lord has done great things for us; we are filled with joy.” (Psalm 126:3)

When I look back on this week, my heart is filled with gratitude. My first time in Italy has been more than just a trip; it has been a blessing and a beautiful encounter with God. Being in Rome, the heart of the Catholic Church, has allowed me to experience the beauty of our faith in a deeper way. Through the places I visited, the prayers I offered, and the people I met, I have seen how the Lord continues to work in my life.

One of the moments I will treasure forever was the Papal Audience on Wednesday. I had the blessing and privilege of sitting very close to the Holy Father and having the opportunity to greet him and shake his hand. In that moment, I felt a great joy in my heart. As a seminarian preparing for the priesthood, meeting the Vicar of Christ reminded me of the beauty of the Church and strengthened my desire to serve God and His people.

During this week, I also had the grace to pray in front of the tombs and relics of saints and martyrs. Being in those holy places reminded me that the Church is built on the faith, love, and sacrifice of many people who gave their lives for Christ. Their witness inspired me to continue growing in my own faith and to trust more deeply in God’s plan.

Another unforgettable moment was visiting Assisi, a place filled with peace and simplicity. Walking through the places connected to St. Francis, St. Clare, and Carlo Acutis was a powerful reminder that holiness is possible for everyone. Their lives show us that God calls us to love Him in our own time and with our own gifts.

As I continue my journey toward the priesthood, I take with me a renewed love for the Church and a deeper desire to serve. I am deeply thankful for The Rome Experience program, and for every person who made this experience possible. Your prayers and support have been a part of this blessing. I leave this week with a grateful heart, knowing that the Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.

SUPPORT OUR MISSION

On The Rome Experience, seminarians deepen their habits of mental prayer, construct a spiritual plan of life, and delve into the lives of the saints and the history of the Church in Rome.

Through The Rome Experience Scholarship Fund, we aim to make this program possible for seminarians from any diocese in the United States who desire this formation experience.
